The current contract is a contract for services (intellectual services). It falls under category 06A of Annex 2 of the Law of 17.6.2016 and concerns: renewal and competition of the insurance portfolio and related services.

The contracting authorities are assisted in the award of this contract by the VOF CARU (BE0540.777.770.), Rogierlaan 9B4, 8400 Ostend, represented by its manager, Mr. Rudi Claeys, domiciled at the same address.

The contract for insurance services is divided into five different lots and various parts as described in the technical file and listed below. This breakdown is done in order to obtain the most economically advantageous solution, which may consist of continuation of current insurance policies or to enable management facilitation per lot.

- Section two: all risks for electronics,

- Section three: all risks art objects,

- Section four: all risks borrowed material,

- Liege five: all risks rickshaw,

- Section six: global insurance against theft,

- Hatch screens: machine breakdown of aerial work platform.

- Liege one: occupational accidents,

- Liege two: physical accident councilors and members BCSD,

- Section three: physical accident advisory councils,

- Liege four: physical accidents association workers,

- Section five: disease and contamination organized voluntary work (decree).

- Section one: general civil liability and legal aid,

- Section two: civil liability officer and members of the BCSD and directors' liability,

- Section three: objective liability for fire and explosion,

- Liege four: BA and physical accident school,

- Section five: BA and physical accidents participants socio-cultural activities,

- Section six: BA private life collective.

- Section 1: fleet policy - civil liability, comprehensive insurance, legal assistance,

- Section 2: full-service travel.

The contract is concluded for a period of four years (effective commencement of the contracts on 1.1.2021) with tacit renewal, under the same conditions, for one year from the conclusion of the original contract, and will legally end on 31.12.2025. With the exception of the BA motor vehicles, which can be canceled annually, but with four consecutive tacit renewals, unless canceled by the insurer six months before the due date.

This longer duration is necessary to recover the investments both by the candidates and the procurers, in resources and personnel, and thus justified by the fact that the procurer provides not only insurance cover but also important assistance in the management of the files mainly also in risk prevention and digital support by the contractors and also in-depth training of the contractors' personnel on how to use it.

These investments in resources and personnel on behalf of both the contractors and the AO require a longer period of time in order to achieve an optimal overall result of the assignment.

The contractor-service provider has the option of canceling the order with a notice period of at least six months before the expiry date, being after the fixed period of four years and then in the case of the tacit renewal and with the CA motor vehicles six months before each annual expiry date. This longer notice for the insurer is indispensable to give the contracting authority the necessary time to conclude a new public contract. However, the candidates undertake not to change the terms of their offer during the entire duration of the assignment.
