As part of its role as NDA’s Low Level Waste management contractor, LLWR is leading the implementation of the UK Strategy for the Management of Solid Low Level Radioactive Waste from the Nuclear Industry through the National Waste Programme for Lower Activity Wastes.
LLWR offers a portfolio of Waste and Logistic Services that can be accessed by Customers via the Waste Services Contract they hold with LLWR. LLWR has procured a 4-year framework agreement with 6 suppliers for radioactive waste characterisation needs. The estimated value is £14m over 4 years, although the agreement is formally zero-value with no spend guaranteed.
Organisations that either currently hold, or may in future enter into, a Waste Services Contract will be able to access services under the framework agreement via LLWR. These organisations include private sector bodies plus public sector bodies that fall into one or more of the categories stated in Section VI Complementary Information.
LLWR has procured 4-year framework agreement with 6 suppliers for a range of radioactive waste characterisation needs, including:
• Pre-operational investigations;
• On-site sampling operations;
• Packaging;
• Transport;
• Analysis;
• Interpretation, reporting and option identification;
• Measurement services;
• Sample retention and disposal.
