With the present description of services, the city of Düren is tendering construction work for the dismantling of the old dump to rehabilitate the school grounds of the Anne Frank Comprehensive School and to remove the contaminated site from the contaminated site register.

The city of Düren is planning to convert the grounds of the Anne Frank Comprehensive School on the property at Kupfermühle 3 in 52353 Düren (district 4770 Mariaweiler-Hoven, corridor 14, parcels 681, 219 and 5/1).

Parts of the old building structure are to be dismantled in order to build a new building at the same location. In the course of clearing the construction site, the two-storey school building in old building A including the connecting passage to old building B and the two single-storey pavilions A and B will be dismantled. The dismantling of these buildings has already been put out to tender in a separate specification. The entire area of the Anne Frank Comprehensive School is listed in the suspected area register of the city of Düren with the entries AV 03 (southern area, site filling) and AV 106 (northern area, gas works damage). On the basis of topographic maps from the years 1893, 1909, 1913, 1938, 1955, 1971 and 1976 it can be seen that the entire school grounds were designated as a wet meadow location until around 1938. At that time, the property was morphologically significantly lower than the surrounding area. The area was used as a sports field from around 1955 to around 1971. As a result, the height of the terrain had to be increased by filling in order to make the original wet meadow usable as a sports field. During the period between 1988 and 1999, the entire school grounds were explored and the northern and southern areas were rehabilitated or secured by sealing the surface. This surface seal consists of an approx. 2 mm thick plastic sealing membrane, which was laid at depths between approx. 0.4 m and approx. 0.6 m below the top of the ground. In the course of clearing the construction site for the planned school building in the southern area, it is planned to excavate the old dump.

The present call for tenders includes the following services in particular:

- Creation of a construction site equipment plan and construction of the construction site,

- dismantling of the outdoor facilities,

- Dismantling of the supply and disposal lines,

- removal of old deposits,

- backfilling the pit,

- Loading of the excavated soil onto semi-trailers and removal to the recycling point or landfill (disposal of the soil),

- Disposal of the demolition material including all necessary evidence.
