The KJF building in Eggenfelden, built in 1983, houses the Rottal-Inn Curative Education Centre with the facilities of the St. Ruppert School for pupils with intellectual disabilities (lessons and sports use), a curative education day care centre, a school preparatory facility and an integrative kindergarten. The original plan to renovate the existing building was dropped due to an economic assessment.

It was decided to build a complete (replacement) new building. The existing building must be completely demolished and then the ground for the new building must be prepared. The connection to the public development will be renewed and adapted to the new circumstances. There is an existing infrastructure, which can be used for the replacement new building.

With regard to the interim solution of a container school, the architect is responsible for the approval planning. With regard to the specialist planning services, it is assumed that the usual electrification of the containers is available. For this reason, not all individual services of the service profile Technical equipment of the service phases 1 - 8 will be required. Only school-specific usage concerns are considered, such as emergency lighting, COMPUTER systems, fire alarm system, telecommunications, etc. These (partial) services, which may be required, are to be optionally commissioned as additional services in the form of a lump sum.

Should it turn out within the framework of the final funding possibilities to be clarified that for economic reasons school and day care center are to be accommodated in two separate buildings, the planned new building would have to be split into two buildings if necessary. This would not mean one (replacement) new building, but two (replacement) new buildings, so to speak.

In consultation with the client or the user, it was decided to outsource the entire school during the construction phase and to carry out the construction project in one construction phase. For the operation of the school during the construction period, the construction of a temporary container on an alternative plot of land will probably be necessary. In addition to partial planning services from the area of object planning buildings and interiors, this will also require partial planning services of the technical equipment (here: ELT) in order to upgrade the time-limited use to such an extent that an orderly school or day care center operation is guaranteed. Here, the areas of indexing, EDP, telephony, possibly BMA, SiBe and Internet etc. are considered. It is assumed that the usual electrification is present in the containers.

For the upcoming complete new building, including swimming pool / indoor swimming pool, there is already a feasibility study and preliminary work (work phases 1 - 3). The fire protection concept based on the design planning is also available. The space requirement according to the preliminary space program for the school of 26.11.2020 and approved space program for the day care center of 21.04.2022 will be met.

The construction phase, including planning and tendering, should be kept as short as possible due to the current cost increases.
