A new design is being planned for Wessels plass, parts of Akersgata (from Prinsens gate to Grensen) and some sub areas around Stortinget and Stortingets administrasjon shall, thus, enter into a contract with an engineering design group consisting of a landscape architect, architect and technical consultants within construction, HVAC and electro. The engineering design services shall cover all phases — i.e. from the sketch project up to and including the follow-up of the site work and claims period. (Only a sketch project shall be prepared for the part of the assignment for parts of Akersgata.) The total area for the engineering design services is approx. 6 300 m². Parts of the assignment will be options.

The intention of the assignment is to protect Stortinget from unwanted events, at the same time as facilitating lively urban life. It is a prerequisite that the protection measures are integrated in the urban design.
