Karmøy municipality has a pipeline network in the sea and in water of approximately 50 km. The work will consist of inspection, mapping
and repair of water and sewage pipes in the sea and in fresh water.
Karmøy kommune, sektor for vann og avløp [Karmøy municipality, sector for water and sewage], aims to enter into a contract for the purchase of diving services. It is
anticipated the contract value will be approx. NOK 2.5 million if the option years are utilised. We emphasise that the stated
volume is a prognosis and is non binding for the municipality. The scope may vary from year to year, among
other things, in accordance with authorisations. The contracting authority retains the right to announce individual assignments over NOK
100,000.
Karmøy municipality has many submarine water pipelines, both large and small, in the ocean and in fresh water.
The municipality also has many submerged sewage pipelines, both non-pressurised discharge pipelines and
pressurised pump pipelines.
To cover the need for emergency preparedness and security of supply for the water utility, Karmøy municipality aims to
establish a framework agreement with a tenderer for the purchase of diving services and submarine inspection assignments.
Typical services will be:
- Inspection of water pipelines/sewage pipelines
- Repair works on submarine pipelines, i.e. Repairs on site under water or repairs where pipelines
are brought to the surface
- Raising or removal of submarine pipelines
- Sinking and weighting of submarine pipelines
- Purification of intake and pipelines
It is anticipated that there will be between 15 and 20 diving assignments per year.
