The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) is planning construction measures for a "Leibniz Innovation Farm for Sustainable Bioeconomy" on the grounds of the Teaching and Research Institute for Animal Breeding and Animal Husbandry (LVAT) in 14550 Groß Kreutz, Neue Chaussee 6. In the model operation, a sustainable, circular bioeconomy is to be designed and combined with interdisciplinary research and direct transfer. Planned are
- Biorefinery for the production of food ingredients, biochemicals and fibres for residue treatment
- Basic infrastructure for research with office workstations and laboratories (basic equipment)
- Area for knowledge transfer (event, exhibition)
- Structural solution for the protection of high-quality equipment and machines (machine hall)
- Modular biogas plant for research
According to the space requirements planning, the required usable area is 2200 m² plus the floor area for the research biogas plant of 3000 m².
A feasibility study is available. According to the current state of knowledge, the production costs for the construction project (KG 200-500) amount to EUR 10,500,000 gross. It is planned to build the new building in a construction phase in the period from 2023 to 2026.
