The project to redevelop the Malraux site consists of constructing, on the plot left bare by the deconstruction of the former medical school, a building comprising three levels, two of which are dedicated to the parking of vehicles and the storage of university collections. The top level will feature a landscaped terrace (forecourt), a reception hall serving the Council Chamber and a multimodal room (meetings/temporary exhibitions). The outdoor spaces at the rear of the building will be converted into a hanging garden called the "Bird Garden" and the front of the building will be open to the city via the forecourt. A link will be built between the Bird Garden and the Cour d'honneur of the Hôtel-Dieu following the demolition of premises that have become obsolete. The proposed constructed floor area is 4230 square meters
