The German Climate Center GmbH (hereinafter referred to as DKRZ) operates a data center for the implementation of climate simulations as a supraregional service facility.
The client is currently planning to procure a new energy-efficient high-performance computer HLRE-4, which will replace the old HLRE-3 at its location at the customer's headquarters during ongoing operations. The installation of the new high-performance computer HLRE-4 is planned in several phases in the period 2020-2021.
For the construction of the new high-performance computer HLRE-4, the client plans an energy-efficient adaptation of the computer rooms and the infrastructure of the data center in several phases, probably in 2021. The client has comprehensive inventory plans of his building.
For the purpose of setting up the new HLRE-4 high-performance computer, the client is planning an energy-efficient adaptation / expansion of the computer rooms and the infrastructure of the data center in several phases, probably in 2021. The goal is to rebuild and expand the media supply, increase reliability through redundancy and measures to increase energy efficiency. In particular, this should concern the refrigeration, high-voltage, UPS, fire protection, MSR, interior design and, if necessary, medium voltage sectors.
This call for tender essentially awards general planning services with a focus on TGA, in which the conversion and expansion measures pursuant to Sec. HOAI until the design planning as well as a performance description with a performance program according to § 7c VOB / A EU for the construction works are created. In addition, the contractor is responsible in particular for the supervision of the contractual execution, the observance of the schedules and the financial framework up to the complete acceptance of the construction measures.
In particular, the following measures are planned in particular:
Electrical engineering:
- Power supply for HPC system with up to 4 MW connected load including UPS,
- renewal or repair of the UPS systems for the infrastructure components,
- Preparation of a lightning protection report and improvement to the required lightning protection class,
- implementation of a legally compliant measurement concept, measures to increase the redundancy of the data center infrastructure,
- replacement of a busbar system with a central subdistributor with departures to the IT racks,
- prevention of DGUV V3 testing by technical measures,
- redesign of the lighting in the computer rooms,
- electronic door displays.
Refrigeration:
- adaptation and supplementation of the refrigeration technology for the cooling of the high performance computers with hot and cold water,
- measures to save energy,
- Increase in cooling capacity at very high outside temperature greater than 35
- repair or replacement of dry recoolers,
- replacement of the refrigerant according to changed legal regulations.
MCR technology:
- Modernization and adaptation of the BMS system.
Metal:
- Fall protection for work on the roof.
Fire protection:
- Preparation of a fire safety report.
statics:
- structural design, in particular verification of building statics for the simultaneous construction of 2 computer systems in the 3rd and 4th floor.
Interior:
- renewal of the floor coating,
- training a storage room,
- design of the visitor area,
- adaptation / renewal of the double floor in the computer rooms,
- painting works.
EMA:
- Modernization of the burglary alarm system while maintaining the VdS class C SG 4 attestation.
Oxygen reduction:
Time control of the oxygen content,
- emergency ventilation.
BIM aspects will play a very important role in this. It is envisaged that the plant construction company will provide its planning services in the BIM model and that this will be monitored by the contractor of the project management services in a permanent controlling process.
