Species status assessment is one of the key avenues to evaluate the success of conservation actions, and related policies. One of the available tools for such assessment is the international union for conservation of nature Red List, a highly authoritative and objective methodology for classifying species by their extinction risk. A number of taxonomic groups has been covered by this assessment so far, but not moths — an important group of pollinators. This contract will produce a European Red List of moths.
