The Department of Polymer-based Lightweight Construction at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus - Senftenberg is requesting a laying head for an existing Automated Fibre Placement system from Mikrosam(R). The tender will be divided into lots:
Lot 1: Single tape ATL head incl. delivery
The 2: Steuersystemverbesserung
The 3: Laseroptiken
Lot 4: fifth axis winding machine

Single tape ATL head incl. deliveryThe department requests the following services for the above-mentioned lot:
- Guidance of a single thermoplastic tape (1/4" width) for small contours r <50mm
- It should be possible to place small shafts (r<50mm) through the head and pressurized gas tanks in also small diameters
- Recording of the temperature during the process by means of a pyrometer and thermal imaging camera
- Cooling of the dispenser against overheating at high temperatures
- Air pressure cooling of the guided tape during the depositing process
- Contact force range from 100 N to 500 N with continuous pressure control
- Processability of tapes with thicknesses between 0.1 and 0.3 mm
- Compatibility of the existing structure of Mikrosam(R) (UVgO §23 Abs.5)
- Tape spool type either Häfner or "Pancake"
- Vorspannkraft des Tapes: mind. 5 N
- Stand for the single tape head
- Automatic machine termination in case of faulty tape routing
Compatibility with Mikrosam(R) products is based on the existing system with a quadruple laying head. The new head should be able to be seamlessly integrated into the MikroPlace CAD environment. A heating source is also already available and integrated.
SteuersystemverbesserungThe department requests the following services for the above-mentioned lot:
-Calibration of the existing CAD system for the new head
-The existing KUKA CNC system is to be given increased movement accuracy through a new version
LaseroptikenThe department requests the following services for the above-mentioned lot:
- Adapted optics for the existing laser system
- Downscaling of the laser effective range from 1" to 1/4"
Fifth axis winding machineFurthermore, a fifth axis is requested for the winding system of the company Mikrosam(R).
This axis is intended to:
- Be compatible with the existing structure,
- be able to wind poles of high-pressure tanks more effectively,
- be able to process towpregs,
- Allow more geometry freedom compared to the existing system
- Compatibility of the existing structure of Mikrosam(R) (UVgO §23 Abs.5)
- Rotation angle of the fifth axis: +/- 45°
- Umdrehungsgeschwindigkeiten: 0 - 30 rpm
