Purchase of up to 50 additional DFI Light systems

Hagener Straßenbahn AG (HST) currently has 68 DFI displays and 104 DFI light displays installed in its operating area. The DFI displays are connected to the ITCS system and provide passengers with real-time information at the stops. Due to the dynamic information, customers are always up-to-date and can use the time until the departure of the bus elsewhere, e.g. for errands. In addition, the advertisements can be provided with information and special texts, which e.g. refer to operational disruptions, diversions, but also to events. This information is conveyed much more purposefully and directly than via other media. The DFI light displays complement the DFI network and also display real-time data, which is delivered via the VRR XML interface. This in turn is connected via the IDS server to the ITCS system of the Hagen tram and other transport companies.

The DFI displays with actual departure times are therefore among the components with the greatest practical benefit for our passengers. The customer response to the advertisements has been very positive and requests from customers and politicians to equip other stops have been expressed.

The existing system of DFI light displays is now to be expanded by 50 additional systems. Hagener Straßenbahn AG requires solar-powered, compact, cost-effective and flexible DFI indicators that are integrated into station masts and supplied with real-time data from the ITCS. These DFI scoreboards are intended to take data from the electronic timetable system of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR). VRR provides the data in XML format via an Internet interface. The data is to be taken over from a service to be delivered and hosted by the provider, processed and distributed via the mobile data network (4G/3G/GSM) to the DFI compact devices to be delivered. The indicators must be able to be integrated into the existing background system for management and configuration.
