Staffordshire County Council wishes to invite tenders for the provision of Accommodation Based Respite.

The purpose of the Service is to provide care and support to those customers who reside in the Contract Area and who are also aged seventeen (17) years and over. The Service is to enable Customers with a Learning Disability and/or Autistic Spectrum Condition to access Accommodation Based Respite at a five (5) bedded residential unit in Burton upon Trent and a ten (10) bedded residential unit in Cannock, Staffordshire.

The objective of the Service is to provide the best possible accommodation based respite in accordance with the lifestyle and wishes of each individual Customer and their family, incorporating a person centred philosophy of service delivery and promoting each Customer's ability to develop an awareness with practical application and encouragement to express their rights, inclusion, choice and independence. For the avoidance of doubt this shall include the provision of respite for Customers with complex needs (including health needs) who may also display behaviours that challenge the Service, environment and others residing within the Service.
