The planning area is located in the estuary of the Saale in the Elbe and was affected during the HW event in 2013 by significant pressure and smoke outlets. There were large-scale watering on, even in the local situation. The existing receiving water did not manage to discharge the accumulating amounts of water without damage.
During the flood event, it was found that the only selective accessibility of the dike systems represents a significant deficiency in the defense of dikes.
Checking the dyke systems showed that they do not comply with the current regulations (DIN 19712) in the planning area. A renovation of the HW protection systems is urgently needed to eliminate the existing deficits.
The total project was divided into 3 lots:
- Lot 1 AB Saaledeich li. km 0.0-3.5,
- Lot 2 AB Saaledeich li. km 3,5-8,35,
- Lot 3 NB Qualmdeiche Saaledeich left km 0.0-5.5.
The estimated total construction costs (lot 1-3) for the KG 200-500 amount to approx. 14,840,756.00 EUR net.
