At the Chair of Neuropsychology, the neural mechanisms of cognitive control, action monitoring and human decision-making are investigated. This research will be expanded to include the very innovative method of non-invasive brain stimulation with focused, transcranial ultrasound (TUS), as this enables non-invasive research into causal mechanisms.
For precise control and high spatial accuracy of the stimulation, a neuronavigation system is required that allows the stimulator unit (transducer) to be aligned with the individual anatomical and functional conditions of the respective subject.
