The purpose of the procurement is to cover the network losses incurred in the distribution network by a physical contract for the purchase of electricity. Lossless electricity is purchased in accordance with normal procedures in the Finnish electricity market. Through this invitation to tender, the contracting entity shall procure total electricity loss. The tenderer may submit a bid only for the total supply of the loss electricity. Partial or alternative offers are not allowed. A bidder can submit only 1 bid.

The amount of wasted electricity normally varies from 2.5 to 10.0 MW per hour depending on the load on the distribution network. The amount of wasted electricity varies from 36 to 39 GWh each year. The current contract for loss of electricity will expire on December 31, 2019. The purpose of this competition is to find the best supplier of electricity for LE-Sähköverkko Oy. The contract for loss of electricity is concluded for a fixed period. Physical delivery of Loss Electricity begins on 1.1.2020 and ends on 31.12.2023.
