In the area of remediation Ronneburg (BSR), Wismut GmbH operates an above-ground landfill of landfill class III for waste from the remediation of the remains of the former uranium mine, which is radioactively contaminated in addition to its contamination with conventional pollutants ("multi-contaminated waste"). Owners/operators of landfills must regularly carry out control and monitoring measures as well as investigations of the emissions emanating from the landfill and the immissions in the area of influence at their own expense during operation (self-monitoring obligations) and document them in accordance with the DepV.
With the continued operation of the landfill, the self-monitoring obligations as well as the control and monitoring measures of the landfill operator Wismut GmbH are to be continued in the coming years from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2027 by means of appropriate expert services and external monitoring.
- Incorporation into landfill genesis (2024 only);
- Familiarization with the transferred Access database (2024 only);
- Implementation of basic services (implementation of expert support);
- Inspection of landfill gas at the gas collection shaft;
- Control of the gas balance by means of FID measurement;
- Reports, documentation, work progress (continuous services, appointments with authorities, conceptual processing of legal cadastre (structure, maintenance and documentation), conceptual management of the working group, conceptual management of the working group "defined aftercare", one-time training on the genesis of the landfill and the current status of "defined aftercare" (only in 2024), appointments with the authorities);
- Waste analysis (analytical costs: DepV DK III, analysis costs: analysis according to the POP Regulation "persistent organic pollutants");
- Measurement, control and documentation of the gas balance.
The maximum scope of services was estimated at 494 hours/year.
