Lenvik municipality shall renovate Silsand junior school.

The current Silsand junior school was built in 1957, with later extensions over a period from 1966 to 2000. The school is located in Silsand, approx. 500 m from Gisundbrua. The school currently has 5th — 7th years.

The existing school is too small and unsuitable for new use and Lenvik municipality has, therefore, planned the construction of a new Silsand junior school, which after the development shall have 4th — 7th years, with a total of approx. 260 pupils. There will be approx. 31 jobs including temporary staff and assistants.

The procurement includes, amongst other things, the redevelopment of parts of the school's west wing, as well as alterations to the oldest part of it and the redevelopment of the entire east wing. Furthermore, the procurement also includes a new building for the school on the part of the area where the old buildings are redeveloped. The planned redevelopment makes up approx. 1200 m2 whilst the planned alterations and new building comprise an area of approx. 800 m2 gross (alterations) and 2388 m2 gross (new building).
