Silkeborg Supply has initiated a course to make the district heating supply CO2 neutral by 2030. This involves a phase-divided plane (roadmap) where Phase 1, which contains an electric boiler and an air-based heat pump, is decided and initiated. In the longer term, there will be a further development with new facilities. The task Silkeborg Supply has planned a course for the implementation of Phase 1, which is divided into four ho-veareas: 1. Community/Transverse Tasks 2. Builder deliveries (Supply, Connection, SRO and Tunnel) 3. Procurement and establishment of electric boiler 4. The procurement and establishment of heat pump The overall futures of these main tasks are shown in the below schedule, where the de-tail schedule of the heat pump project is also shown. This tender deals with project advice for Task 4: Purchasing and establishing a heat pump.

Today, heat supply is primarily based on production from the existing CCGT based cogeneration plant and from the solar thermal plant. The cogeneration plant has recently expanded with flue gas condensation and together with the solar thermal plant as of 2016, a substantive CO2 reduction has already been implemented. The current 30MW electric boiler has been commissioned in 2015 and is primarily used as a peak and spare cargo, as well as for the provision of special regulation.
