The cantonal road no. 76 between Bad Ragaz and Pfäfers is to be rebuilt over a route length of around 440 meters on the section between km 01.770 and km 02,220. The section of the road is located in an extensive slide area. Two landslides occurred on the valley side of the road in the 1980s, whereupon the valley embankments were stabilized with new, back-anchored sheet pile walls. The last inspection showed that the sheet pile walls are partly in poor condition. In addition, the existing road holding in this section does not meet today's requirements in any way with regard to visibility, crossings and longitudinal gradients. In this context, the road is to be corrected in its lines, adjusted in width and adapted to the adjacent areas.
