Laboratory tests as part of the actual state analysis of the Muldeaue (soil and sediment tests)
In order to develop a floodplain management concept, an area-wide survey of the status of soils and sediments in the large-scale project area of the Muldeaue between Bit-terfeld and Dessau is to be carried out. The aim is to create a data basis for the longer-term goal of developing an integral floodplain management concept taking into account the pollution on the floodplain areas of the trough in conjunction with targeted measures to minimise pollution levels and taking into account the requirements of soil, nature, water and flood protection.
The trough is in poor condition as part of the WFD assessment. The reason for the condition of the muldeaue is that during flooding pollutants (HCH, DDX, organotin compounds, heavy metals, dioxins and furans) can be mobilized that have been deposited during previous flood events. However, there is still a lack of a large-scale system understanding of which areas in the Muldeaue act as a source and where pollutants can be mobilized again. Furthermore, it will also be clarified in the future whether there is an impairment of the protected assets and whether there is a need for further action due to the burdens.
The services advertised here include the examination of soil and sediment samples as well as their takeover from the contractor commissioned with the sampling.
The term sediment refers to the soft, muddy deposits of the water bed. Suspended solids and gritty/stony substrates of the water bottom are not the subject of the investigation.
The investigations are carried out as part of an EU-funded project. In accordance with the provisions of the grant notice, the benefits are to be settled against the EU by the end of March 2023. The services of the Contractor Analytik are therefore to be invoiced to the Client by 20.03.2023 at the latest, including handover of the complete documentation.
