Maihaugsalen is one of the country’s best halls for performing arts and concerts. The hall was built for the 1994 Olympics and has particularly good acoustic qualities. The Foundation of the Lillehammer Museum wants to be an attractive venue for famous artists, choirs, orchestras, theatres, lecturers and other performing artists, and in this regard, the hall's technology must be constantly improved and renewed in order to satisfy the requirements of the market.
Maihaugsalen currently has an older rope loft. This does not satisfy the current requirements of functionality in performances or the operational stability desired.
