Helsinki University Properties Ltd is competing for the design and construction of the Hyytiälä forest station's new building. Hyytiälä Forest Station is located in Pirkanmaa, in the municipality of Juupajoki. The forest station has become an international center for multidisciplinary research. The research focuses on different forest environments from soil depths to atmospheric altitudes. Forest Station offers services for research, course activities and other gatherings. The station needs a new accommodation and education building. The project includes the design and construction of a new building, as well as the demolition work on the old A, B, and C buildings completed in the 1970s, including landscaping.

The procurement will be carried out through a competitive negotiated procedure. The purpose of the procurement is to find a consortium of the main contractor and the main and architectural designer, who, together with the client and the user, will carry out the design and execution of the site according to the client's objectives. First, a contract notice is published, which all interested journalists may request to participate. Three (3) consortia will be selected for the negotiation phase, unless there are fewer suitable consortia. Only selected candidates may take part in the negotiation and bid. The subscriber arranges bilateral negotiations with each bidder during the bidding phase. The purpose of the events is to ensure that the tenderer understands not only the content of the invitation to tender and the selection procedure, but also the principles of the project implementation. During the negotiations, the tenderer has the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the contents of the initial invitation to tender and its annexes. At the end of the negotiation phase, the subscriber submits a final invitation to tender for the offer.
