The Contracting Authority is seeking a Supplier to provide a career transition and financial planning service to Police officers and staff who are nearing the age at which they can draw upon their occupational pension. The Service will typically be provided to officers and staff one to three years prior to drawing their occupational pension. Police officers usually retire between the ages of 49 to 55 with a number going on to further employment. The intention of the programme is to provide officers and staff with information and assistance to prepare them for retirement or an alternative career outside the police force.
It is anticipated that the Service will consist of workshops, one to one career planning sessions, assistance with finding alternative employment, assistance with making personal life choices such as becoming self employed, assistance with transition into retirement and financial planning guidance. One to one support and coaching may continue for a number of months after officers and staff have left the constabulary.
The Framework will be for a period of 3 years with an option for an additional 12 months extension at the discretion of the Contracting Authority.
