Description:
The Design, Production and Supply of Weather Covers

Protective gear. Protective gear. There is a requirement for a future enabling contract for the design, production and supply of weather covers, for a range of weapon systems on the exposed upper decks of HM Ships and Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Vessels.

The weather covers must be capable of protecting the weapons from the effects of the weather and seas in the naval generic environment under DEF STAN 00-35 part 4 Issue 05, dated 28 March 2018, weather conditions A1, B3, M1, M2 and M3, up to sea state 6, yet be easily and quickly removable. They must be water resistant to air born pollutants and UV degradation and be conveniently stored when not in use.

Successful tenderers will be required to attend a site visit at HMS Collingwood to view the Weapon Systems and Mounts in situ as part of the tendering process. The industry day will be managed in accordance with Covid-19 restrictions and attendees will receive information around this prior to their visit.
