Städtische Werke Magdeburg GmbH & Co. KG intends to allocate the sewage sludge produced at the Magdeburg/Gerwisch sewage plant to a suitable company for transport and thermal recovery. The sewage sludge is to be thermally recycled in a mono-sewage sludge incineration plant from 1.1.2024 to 31.12.2033. From 1.1.2029, in accordance with the sewage sludge Ordinance, the recovery must also be carried out with phosphorus recovery.

The aim of the client is to ensure a predictable, sustainable, environmentally friendly and cost-effective sewage sludge disposal in the medium to long term, while ensuring disposal safety and compliance with environmental aspects. The use of sewage sludge must be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the current sewage sludge regulation (WfklärV) and the relevant laws.

Approximately 16 000 to 21 000 tonnes of original substance (OS) are produced for transport each year. As a rule, the sewage sludge attack per working day is about 70-75 t of OS.

Loading, initial weighing, transport, incoming weighing and thermal recovery in a mono-sewage sludge incineration plant of sewage sludge with a volume of approximately 16 000 to 21 000 tonnes per year of original substance (OS), approximately 70-75 tonnes per day OS (Monday to Friday), fluctuation of up to 125 t OS per working day (after weekends after weekends) public holidays or procedural changes). Over the year, the amount of sewage sludge in the sludge storage is up to 1 000 tonnes of OS. The quantities reported are experience of annual quantities from previous years. However, there is no legal entitlement to the decrease in annual forecast volumes. Operational deviations up or down are possible.

The initial weighing is carried out on the wastewater treatment plant by means of an existing calibrated heavy-duty weigher to be operated by the contractor. Weighing consists of an empty weighing of the transport vehicle and a complete weighing immediately after loading.

In addition, mono-sewage sludge combustion must be used to ensure that phosphorus is recovered from the ash from 1.1.2029 onwards, which is again legally mandatory by this time at the latest. The contractor shall be responsible for the disposition and any additional expenses for this purpose.

This must be taken into account when calculating and presenting the unit price.
