OPZ Geel is a public psychiatric care and knowledge centre with a second-line assignment, which, for people with psychiatric problems and their immediate surroundings, organises professional care in a respectful manner to work together on recovery.

With a campus of 23 hectares and more than 30 buildings, OPZ Geel has a significant and challenging heritage.

This framework contract concerns a support contract for the technical services of OPZ Geel in the execution of small and medium-sized renovation and refurbishment contracts in the buildings and premises of OPZ Geel.

Each partial assignment within the framework agreement is considered as a result obligation whereby the contractor must deliver a fully finished product within the agreed period and ceiling budget. Given the specific context (operational psychiatric hospital) with its associated challenges, the main focus of the assignment is the iterative design process.

The contractor will have to conduct the necessary consultation with the internal stakeholders during the design phase. The execution of the works will be done via an open book principle, in a construction team with the client. The contractor is also responsible for full coordination during the execution.

The assignment is placed by means of a framework contract without minicompetition. The allocation will be done through a waterfall system. The best ranked participant is asked if he can execute the assignment. If this were not the case, the question will be asked to the second ranked participant and so on.
