Description:
Interior and exterior renovation of the multi-purpose high-rise building of the University of Bremen - Project planning of the building in accordance with § 34 HOAI

Founded in 1971, the University of Bremen has a total of around 19,000 students, 18% of whom are international. At this university, research and teaching are closely linked. The focus here is on high scientific quality and professional competence. Teachers and students at the University of Bremen are guided by the fundamental values of democracy, human rights and social justice, which are also the subject of research and teaching in many areas. Interdisciplinarity, practical relevance and social responsibility decisively shape the university's mission statement in teaching and research. The University of Bremen comprises more than 100 courses of study in twelve faculties in the natural sciences and engineering as well as in the social sciences and humanities.

At the University of Bremen, the multi-purpose high-rise building (MZH) is to be renovated in several construction phases.

See also section 2.4 below. the notice.

The multi-purpose high-rise building (MZH) is located on the campus of the University of Bremen at Bibliothekstraße 5. It is a building designed by Walter Henn in 1972. The multi-purpose high-rise building has eight floors. The aim of the construction project is to renovate the building technology and, in particular, the building envelope. In 2010, the MZH received an extension as an independent base with a two-storey entrance zone. Particularly striking is the glass façade folded inwards as well as the dark red coloured fibre cement panels protruding in colour. The colours and materials of the foyer are to be taken into account or integrated into the façade renovation of the multi-purpose high-rise building. The foyer serves to provide access to the multi-purpose building and contains a library with laptop spaces as well as seminar and office space.

The reason for the renovation measures is that the façade of the multi-purpose high-rise building and the technical building equipment are in great need of renovation. Some of the technical equipment dates back to 1996. Although barrier-free expansion in the form of ramps and automatic doors has already taken place in some areas, it does not comply with today's standard and DIN 18040 at all levels.

The multi-purpose high-rise building is occupied by various uses. The main users are members and students of Faculty 03 Mathematics/Computer Science and the Center for Networks (ZfN). The internal and external renovation of the MZH must be carried out in several construction phases in order to reduce disruptions to ongoing university operations to a minimum.

In many areas, drywall walls connect directly to the existing façade.

Construction cost estimate: approx. 30.90 million (KG 200 to 700) gross.

Of this, approximately 11.67 million euros are attributable to the. KG 300 and 7.78 million euros. to KG 400.
