With the tendering of this assignment, NDW aims to expand the dataset BVG (basic file traffic data) which is determined with measured data, with estimated data for intensities and vehicle categories. Together with Rijkswaterstaat, NDW is carrying out the project 'Cooperation on historical traffic data' (SHiVi). The national road network is divided into SHiVi traffic lanes For this purpose, data for the traffic lanes are derived in a uniformed manner from measurement data where they are available. This results in a basic file of measurement data (BMG) and a basic file of traffic data (BVG-measured).

For traffic intensities, insufficient measuring locations (where a distinction is made according to vehicle categories) are available. To fill this gap, BVG estimates are needed.
