At the Hamburg Lokstedt location, the last still equipped with SD technology FS production complex Studio NDR1 is operated. The complex was put into operation at the beginning of 2005. The existing television production technology no longer meets current production standards and requirements.

The aim of the project Studio NDR1 is the planning and realization of a flexible FS production studio for different types of programs. The project includes all the technical and organizational measures required in the studio, the direction and the associated equipment room from planning to commissioning.
