The project "Alert system for leaching of pesticides to groundwater" (hereinafter VAP) is a monitoring programme with two main objectives: 1) To investigate and give early warning of whether approved pesticides or their degradation products leach to young groundwater in concentrations above the limit value. 2) To improve and disseminate the scientific basis for optimising the Danish authorities' approval and regulation procedures of pesticides based on the collected monitoring data The monitoring results are used directly in the Danish Environmental Protection Agency's regulation of pesticides, which is why documented quality assurance of analytical methods and results as well as low detection limits are necessary.
Overall, the tender covers the following activities:
1) Collection of water samples and tank mix samples at the six test fields
2) Laboratorieanalyser
3) Reporting based on laboratory analyses
In collaboration with the Department of Agroecology at Aarhus University (AGRO) and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (MST), GEUS performs "Alert system for leaching of pesticides to groundwater" (hereinafter "PLAP"). The purpose of PLAP is partly to investigate and give early warning of whether approved pesticides and/or their degradation products leach to young groundwater in concentrations above the requirement value, and partly to improve and disseminate the scientific basis for optimising the Danish authorities' approval and regulation procedures of pesticides based on the collected monitoring data. Further description of the task and requirement specification can be found in the tender documents.
A maximum of 720 samples per year are planned. However, GEUS is not obliged to purchase a specific quantity during the agreement period, but GEUS expects that purchases will be made for DKK 3.27 million annually. The tender will be conducted as an open procedure, where the contract will be awarded using the award criterion "lowest price", which exists on the basis of an evaluation technical price. Please refer to the tender documents for a detailed description.
