Description:
2021 - Procurement of veterinary duty services

The municipalities are responsible for organising clinical veterinary duty services.

The veterinary duty services are established in accordance with the Act of 15 June 2021 no. 75 on veterinary surgeons and

other animal health personnel, section 3 a.

The veterinary duty scheme must ensure the establishment of a municipal/inter-municipal

clinical duty scheme for veterinary surgeons in all parts of the country so that necessary veterinary help can be got

outside of ordinary working hours. The veterinary duty scheme is a necessary part of the stand-by against serious

infectious animal diseases and important for maintaining good animal welfare.

Overhalla Municipality is responsible for ensuring that the duty districts Namsos and Overhalla/Høylandet have an available veterinary duty scheme. Two sub-contests are thus announced, one for each duty district. The municipality would like to enter into approx. 3 contracts for the duty district Namsos, and 4 for Overhalla/Høylandet. The municipalities in Norway are responsible for organising clinical veterinary duty services. Overhalla Municipality administers this for the duty districts Namsos and Overhalla/Høylandet. This is an established cooperation scheme between Namsos, Overhalla, and Høylandet Municipalities.

The veterinary duty services are established in accordance with the Act of 15 June 2021 no. 75 on veterinary surgeons and
