Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (The Councils) are looking to contract for the management of 14 household waste recycling centres across the Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham regions.
The service and responsibilities of the Provider are as follows:
The site management of the household waste recycling centres within the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Control of Pollution Act 1974 and the Waste Management Licence issued by the Environment Agency.
To manage and enhance the re-use and recycling activities at the household waste recycling centres.
To reduce abuse of the sites by preventing the deposit of commercial waste free of charge.
The transport of waste to, and deposition at, delivery points.
Manage waste in line with health and safety, duty of care and statutory requirements.
Tender for management of 14 household waste recycling centres across the Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham regions. The contract is for 3 years, with an option to extend for a further 2 x 1 year periods.
Estimated contract value: between 2 400 000 GBP and 2 800 000 GBP per annum for the three combined authorities, excluding VAT.
