Remediation refers to oil pollution in the soil and soil water caused by underground tanks.
The pollution extends over an area of 700m². 400 m² are located under the public domain (road, sidewalks and car parks), 15 m² under the school and 20 m² under the wooden building located not far from the vats. The rest of the pollution area is not located under special infrastructure. The depth of the pollution reaches 5 meters deep at the level of the tanks.
Soils are very low permeable, but the small amount of water they contain is also polluted.
Pollution in water extends over a smaller area than in the soil (600m²).
The services to be performed are, briefly described and not exhaustively, the following:
Installation of the site (school site fences, dismantling, storage area
temporary, access, etc.) ;
The pure product present in the soil around the tanks will be pumped and evacuated;
The tanks still in place and at the origin of the pollution will be emptied, cleaned, excavated and evacuated to the recovery center;
Earthworks and disposal in the treatment center of contaminated soil in place in the presence of a representative of the environmental design office and under its direction. The excavation bottom can be divided into 2 parts, the first carried out under embankment 4/4 to a
depth of 4 m by 108 m² and the second stabilized thanks to the use of trenches
formwork 6 m deep by 63 m² at the level of the pollution core;
Loading and disposal of polluted soil stored on site;
In case of presence of water in the bottom of the excavation, a pumping will be carried out. Waters
pass through an oil separator before being released to sewers
(IDEA manager to consult at startup);
Backfilling of the excavation and compaction according to the rules of the art;
Site rehabilitation (fences, grass slabs, stonework, planting, paving, reassembly of street furniture).
