Stadtwerke Karlsruhe GmbH intends to build a large-scale battery storage facility at a suitable location in the Karlsruhe district. The large-scale battery storage system is to be available for a wide range of applications, in particular to enable flexible participation in various energy markets, including ancillary services and revenue optimisation on the spot market. The planned grid connection capacity on the 20 kV grid of the large-scale battery storage is expected to be about 10 MW, and the storage system is expected to provide capacity for about 2 hours (or more).
Stadtwerke Karlsruhe GmbH intends to procure the following services as part of the battery storage project:
1. Technical Advisor (TA) to award recommendation
Preparation of tender documents for a general contractor and O&M contractor: Complete and detailed tender documents, including technical specifications, tender design, contract terms and related contract documents and necessary documents for the tender process, project management.
2. Support the Technical Advisor (TA) for negotiations and recommendation of a suitable contractor (optional)
Participation in the awarding of contracts: Assistance with Q&A, evaluation of offers, negotiations and recommendation of a suitable contractor.
3. Owner's Engineering (optional)
• Project management/control: project management for the construction of the battery storage facility, monitoring the progress of the project, coordinating the parties, adherence to the schedule and budget. Control of the necessary approval procedures, support in approval procedures.
• Planning, supervision, quality control, supervision of acceptance and commissioning.
• Ensuring the implementation of the battery storage project in accordance with the requirements of Stadtwerke Karlsruhe GmbH.
• Representing the interests of the client during the entire implementation phase.
• Ensuring that all systems are functioning properly and that agreed performance targets are met.
• In addition, the contractor reviews and approves engineering drawings, data, calculations, test procedures, layouts, drawings of components and performance and warranty test procedures.
The procurement includes the above-mentioned services including the options for contract negotiations and for the use of the contractor as an owner's engineer.
