This contract concerns the organisation and coordination of the transport (roundtrip) of works of art (with or without conveyor) from Belgium and abroad (following the inventory list in the annex) within the framework of the exhibition “Ways of Modernity”, which will take place at the premises of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (MRBAB) in Brussels from 15.10.2021 until 13.2.2022.
(a) The production of standard packaging: soft and crate (see description p. 27). After conclusion but prior to market order, packaging conditions may be changed in accordance with lender instructions. It is the lender/owner who decides whether the production of the packaging complies with its requirements. Any additional costs, if any, must be justified by evidentiary evidence. These amendments fall entirely within the scope of Article 38/2 of the Implementing RA of 14.1.2013;
(b) The packaging and unpacking of works (see inventory list) according to the wishes of the lenders (custom made boxes or soft packaging — tyvek, plastic bubbles, cardboard, corners) on the way and back;
(c) The transport by road or by air of these works, to and from the outbound, according to the wishes of the lenders;
(d) The organization of travel of the conveyors of the works to and from the roundtrip, including the booking of air tickets, train tickets and hotel rooms;
(e) Customs formalities relating to the transport of these works, to and from the return of these works;
(f) The removal of empty crates prior to the opening of the exhibition and their storage in a safe, dry, controlled and safe location of xylophagous insect infestation throughout the exhibition period and delivery of these boxes to the Museum on the first day of dismantling of the exhibition;
(g) Support for the hanging of works by two employees of the carrier for two weeks during assembly and two weeks during dismantling;
(h) Coordination of all these actions by an experienced coordinator in the field of transport of works of art for exhibitions and multilingual (French and Dutch, English if possible).
The market is divided into two phases:
— phase 1: the production of the packaging, the packaging itself and the transport of the works from their place of conservation (owner) to the premises of the MRBAB and the unpacking of the works on site;
— phase 2: the packaging of the works, their transport from the premises of the MRBAB to the owner and their unpacking on site.
