The Commissioner is seeking a Lead Provider able to deliver a service which can meet the sexual health needs of the local populations of Shropshire County PCT and Telford & Wrekin PCT through an integrated model of service delivery and use of innovative service redesign across all 3 levels of sexual health services from basic level to complex/specialist.
Expressions of interest are invited from suitably experienced and qualified care providers, who wish to be considered to provide Integrated Community Based Levels 1, 2 and 3 contraceptive and sexual health services utilising a ‘one stop shop’ model where all Service User needs can be met at one site. To ensure appropriate geographical coverage the service will be supported by satellite clinics, clinical outreach and targeting of vulnerable/at risk groups.
The service will:-.
— bring together all contraception and sexual health services including Genito-Urinary Medicine, HIV including testing, counselling and out-patients, Psychosexual counselling, targeted clinical outreach, proactive sexual health promotion and prevention and community vasectomy,
— be open access, non judgmental, available to anyone requiring care irrespective of their place of residence without referral (other than psychosexual and vasectomy) delivered from a range of easily accessible locations within the boundaries of Shropshire County PCT and NHS Telford & Wrekin PCT,
— be evidence based with a focus on clinical outcomes,
— actively promote self management of sexual health either independently or with support,
— provide a combination of walk-in and appointment clinics with the majority of access through walk-in sessions with regular and predictable opening hours extending into evenings and saturday mornings,
— target people disproportionately affected by unplanned pregnancy and sexual ill health including young people, Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) and people from minority ethnic groups,
— maximise each clinician’s potential to provide a high standard of care for clients and deliver best value through effective multi-disciplinary working with appropriate skill mix of clinical staff,
— aim to reduce unnecessary travel to services and increase ease of access to information, advice and support through innovative solutions making best use of web-based and telephone information, advice and/or streaming into appropriate levels of care, use of text, telephone, telemedicine consultations where appropriate,
— meet relevant national, regional and local targets and standards in relation to waiting times and access to services,
— support, plan and deliver a range of sexual health training programmes/placements to the local health economy.
