Characterization of the discharge of radioactive substances from special types of facilities in the field of medicine and industry with the outgoing air
In the emission monitoring of the outgoing air of non-nuclear facilities, there is no sufficient quantity structure with regard to the underlying nuclide vectors and the temporal course of emissions. Within the framework of the present research project, these questions are to be investigated in more detail by means of on-site measurements. The characterization of the discharges of radioactive substances with the outgoing air at facilities initially includes the identification of facilities suitable for the metrological investigations. Based on this- - according to organizational and metrological planning - in particular direct measurements of gaseous radioactive substances, but also measurements of radioactive substances bound to suspended solids are to be carried out. As a basis for the development and implementation of the measurement technology, the existing measurement technology of the Federal Office is to be used. This is to be supplemented, further developed and validated in the course of planning and carrying out the measurements. In addition to the further development of the measurement technology, the contractor is to provide an evaluation routine for the measurement strategy.
Finally, the measurement results obtained will be compared with the operator's own measurements. In addition to the identified radionuclides, the characteristic limits determined in accordance with DIN EN ISO 11929 and the uncertainty budgets included in the evaluation must be taken into account and evaluated.
