In the next few years, the city of Crailsheim is planning the restructuring, renovation and construction of large parts of the secondary schools as part of a higher-level school construction concept. The first building block in this concept is the new construction of the Realschule zur Flügelau as a 3-speed Realschule in the immediate vicinity of the Luise-Meitner-Gymnasium, a future jointly usable canteen and the Hirtenwiesenhalle.

The planner selection procedure according to VgV, which is advertised for this purpose, has a two-stage structure. In the first stage, the formal eligibility criteria are queried. On this basis, up to 5 offices are to be selected for the second stage. Here, a concrete design proposal must then be developed and then presented in a bidder discussion.
