The Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) is a technical and scientific research institution within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV). It has the task of promoting the development of road engineering and providing the BMDV with scientifically sound decision-making aids for upcoming transport policy issues in the field of road engineering.
The BASt office is located at Brüderstraße 53 in 51427 Bergisch Gladbach. The total area covers approx. 20 ha of floor space, on which there is a five-line, multi-storey office and laboratory wing as well as three hall complexes with a total of 10 test halls and the central heating system.
In addition, the BASt has a demonstration, investigation and reference area (duraBASt) as a further test site outside the office. The duraBASt is located east of Cologne at the motorway junction Köln-Ost and can only be reached via the surrounding motorway by private transport (vehicle and driver's license required). The site is not open to the public and is used exclusively by trained personnel. On the site there is a company building, which is involved in the maintenance cleaning. The company building is a single-storey modular container building with a floor area of 150.54 m². To enter and enter the area, a named and vehicle-related exemption permit from Autobahn GmbH is required. This is requested by the client.
The maintenance cleaning of both service properties (BASt and duraBASt) comprises cleaning areas of 32,535.08 m² floor area and, derived from this, an annual total cleaning area of € 1,897,185.00 m². Included in the tender is the small proportion of glass cleaning of the duraBASt company building with a cleaning area of 55 m². This corresponds to a total annual cleaning area of 660 m².
