Description:
Operating and system planning for the development of the ferry depot at the Bauhof Rendsburg location

The Kiel-Holtenau and Brunsbüttel waterways and shipping authorities operate a ferry line for people at Kiel-Wik and 14 ferry lines for passenger and motor vehicle transport on the Kiel Canal with 16 ferries and ferry landing facilities as well as a transporter ferry, a pedestrian tunnel and a vehicle tunnel and four high bridges . This cross-traffic is made available to users free of charge due to planned obligations.

The ferries (without passenger ferry Kiel-Wik) and parts of the ferry landing facilities are being repaired at the Rendsburg construction yard of the Kiel-Holtenau WSA. Due to the urgent need for renovation of the entire building yard of Rendsburg, it is necessary to develop and modernize the infrastructure as a future ferry depot.

All work on the site of the construction depot is to be planned while it is in operation.

In-house processing combined with the allocation of individual trades (optimized own work) is specified as the type of company.

It defines which core competencies and tasks the WSV will perform on its own. All other services are to be outsourced to third parties and taken into account in the operating procedures and system planning. A personnel concept was developed for the core tasks (own work).

The following tasks must be worked out under the above conditions:

1. operational planning with determination of space requirements;

2. Plant planning with arrangement optimization and cost determination

For this, the inventory of the existing infrastructure must first be recorded. Then a target planning concept and a profitability report are to be drawn up for 2 variants each:

Variant A: Development of the building yard in Rensburg into a ferry depot with repair of an existing longitudinal slipway and extension with a transfer station without increasing capacity

Variant B: Development of the Rendsburg building yard into a ferry depot with a new ship lift and an increase in capacity for processing ships of up to 350 tons in weight, 40 m ship length and 13 m ship width.

Surveys, coordination and presentation of results are to be carried out on site in Rendsburg, Brunsbüttel and Kiel as well as regular coordination discussions with the client.
