The Nursing Home Department would like to enter into negotiations with the Jewish Residential and Senior Centre for a nationwide contract for the procurement of individual places in old people's homes and nursing homes for 8 + 1 + 1 year, valid from 1.1.2019.

Norway has ratified the European Council's framework convention on the protection of national minorities. Jews are recognised as a minority, both nationally and as a religion. Norway has undertaken to make arrangements so that national minorities can maintain and further development their identity (White Paper 15 (2000-2001). The same White Paper mentions that Oslo municipality has a special old people's and nursing home for jews, which is run with a grant from Oslo municipality and Det Mosaiske trossamfunn.
