Liquid or wet sewage sludge is produced in all WWTP's management area of Wetterskip Fryslân (WF). The liquid sewage sludge is transported from the WWTP's to the SOI in Heerenveen. The transport of the sewage sludge from the 3 WWTP's on the Wadden Islands and from the WWTP's Leeuwarden, Harlingen and Franeker are carried out to the SOI in Heerenveen by inland vessel.

The current agreement expires on 31 December 2022. With this European public tender, Wetterskip Fryslân wishes to contract one contractor for the continuity of the service.
