George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust requires ward level electronic medicines storage and retrieval systems to be sited in 3 locations at its acute site in Nuneaton including A&E and the Acute Medical Unit. The system is required to achieve a number of benefits including saving nursing time, improving stock rotation and providing alerts for slow moving stock, reducing the likelihood for medication selection and administration errors, reducing the cost of re-supply of stock medicines which cannot be located on wards, reducing inventory as a result of combining storage areas in AMU and A&E, avoiding missed doses and improving security of medicines storage. The ability to integrate the devices with electronic prescribing systems is a key requirement. The Contract will include the purchase, installation and commissioning of the equipment, the training of staff in its use, on-going maintenance, software licenses and future upgrades to any part of the system including both hardware and software.
