Operation of hand-operated locks and bridges on the Finow Canal from 2022 to 2025 in the section of the Finow Canal from Ruhlsdorf to Liepe (FiK km 57.4 to 89.3)

Operation of 12 hand-operated locks depending on the progress of the planned automations and the operation of the folding bridge in Niederfinow at the following seasons:

2022 from mid-April 2022 to mid-October 2022

2023 from mid-April 2023 to mid-October 2023

2024 from mid-April 2024 to mid-October 2024

2025 from mid-April 2025 to mid-October 2025

The operating hours are from Monday to Sunday from around 9:00 to 16:45.

The six western locks (lock package1) are expected to be undergoing basic repairs with subsequent automation from November 2022. These will be gradually decommissioned as a result.

Lock package 2 is expected to have no restriction in the service period up to 2025.

These structures are operated from the company building on the lock site. There is a control building next to the folding bridge.

Main tasks:

- Execution and monitoring of lock operation including documentation

- execution and monitoring of bridge operations including documentation

- Daily check of lock/bridge systems, including visual checks before the first operation, as well as securing systems and documentation after the last operation.

- Checking the operational readiness of lock systems and traffic area in the lock area as well as the folding bridge

- carrying out smaller entertainment tasks on the lock company premises (small repairs, lawn mowing and green care, waste disposal, etc.)
