Devon & Somerset fire and rescue service (DSFRS) seeks to establish a framework agreement with a single Prime Contractor who will be responsible for the design, assembly and supply of small fire appliances - light rescue pumping appliances - which will be a based on a mixture of 4x2 and 4x4 chassis’.
It is envisaged that DSFRS will require a total of seventy Light Rescue Pumping appliances (approximately) to be delivered over a the period of the framework.
The light rescue pumping appliances shall be capable of transporting five operational personnel (including the driver), a limited and fixed range of equipment, and 1 000 litres of useable water and must meet, as a minimum, the provisions of BS EN 1846 and other relevant legislation.
The proposed framework agreement will commence on the 1.4.2013. The duration of the framework agreement will be six (6) years so as to expire on 31.3.2019.
The framework agreement will be available to access by the Participating Services which shall include the fire and rescue authorities in England, as defined by the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 and by Participating Customers who are other bodies associated with Fire and Rescue activities with similar requirements, including: the Ministry of Defence Fire Service; Department of Communities and Local Government; Fire and Rescue Authorities in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the States of Jersey and Guernsey, Isle of Man, the Fire Service College, Ambulance Services in the UK, Airport Fire Services in the UK, Metropolitan Police and the British Transport Police.
