The purpose of the contract is to deforestation, dewatering and/or trimming of strains in wetlands at 7 Natura 2000 sites in the Hauts-de-France region.
Its objective is to:
— restoration of open environments invaded by woody wood;
— colonization by woody wood is a consequence of the drying of peatlands and their trophic enrichment. It is accentuated by the lack of management at sites, abandoned and results in the closure of habitats that degrade and then disappear. The removal of woody wood is necessary to restore optimal light conditions for the habitats targeted by LIFE (transitional and trembling bogs, limestone marshes to Marisque and low alkaline peatlands) or to limit evapotranspiration that enhances lowering water levels.
