Gloucestershire Police Authority (GPA) is seeking to enter into a contract for architectural services that will deliver a new 50 cell custody centre for GPA that meets present and future needs. This will support GPA in the delivery of its policing plan that aims to keep people safe from harm and to inspire the highest levels of public confidence in us, the local police.
Provision of Custody Centre strategically located on land adjacent to Police Headquarters, Waterwells will ensure that the constabulary has the resilience to meet current and future needs and will provide a custody centre that meets home office building design guidelines.
The project will follow the ‘traditional’ two stage approach to delivery of a new build:
— Architect,
— Town planning in liaison with the Constabulary Consultants BNP Paribas,
— Quantity surveyor,
— Mechanical and electrical,
— Planning supervision i.e CDM and health and safety,
— Clerk of works.
The disciplines above are not exhaustive and may be subject to change.
