The city of Göttingen intends to renovate and make attractive the existing, listed outdoor pool on Brauweg.
All pools are to be fundamentally revised.
This includes the dismantling of all outdoor paving surfaces, the removal of all overflow channels, the removal of the film lining, demolition of the pool heads. The bathing water technology must be largely renewed and partially revised. All basins receive new stainless steel gutters and a new foil lining. The non-swimmer pool West will be converted into a children's pool. The walk-through basins will be demolished and replaced by barrier-free walk-through troughs. The entire bathing water technology is renewed and a new rainwater drainage pipe is laid. The existing large slide, as well as the historic diving tower are to be preserved and protected during the construction project. The existing children's pool will be partially demolished and converted into a dry playground. After completion of the pools, the paving areas will be provided with new coverings and the transitions to the higher sunbathing lawn will be revised in landscape planning. The shore areas of the leine are opened on both sides and integrated into the bathing operation as a nature experience space. The two Leineufer connected with a new play suspension bridge. At the same time, the entrance building is being renovated in accordance with monument regulations. The processes of the two separate construction projects must be coordinated with each other in such a way that no hindrances arise.
Total area of outdoor swimming pool: 17,574 m²
Water surfaces: 2,367.04 m²
Plantings and hedges: 370 m²
Trockenspielplatz: 200 m²
Lawns/lawns: 10,600 m²
Right-sided Leinewiese: 3.600m²
Paved areas: 3.650m²
The construction site access is approached from the north via the Brauweg, the middle access road and the roundabout. Parking is available in front of the west wing of the entrance building.
A new children's paddling landscape with climbing castle and ramp slides, surrounding massive benches and in-situ concrete planters in WU reinforced concrete construction is to be built in the best-looking, cleared non-swimmer pool west. A massive staircase entrance is to be added to the side of the existing swimming pool. In order to install the new stainless steel gutters, the existing pool heads in some areas have to be concreted and new locking steps have to be formed. In the diving pool, the upper floor slab, the raised floor, which was cut open to renew the bathing water piping, must be filled again and closed in in-situ concrete. The existing pump cellar will be extended above ground to bath plate level. A new children's slide needs 2 new foundations. A new playbridge over the Leine needs new quiver foundations with foundation piles on both sides of the bank.
