Lounavoima Oy is a company founded in 2017 and owned by Salon Kaukolämpö Oy and Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto Oy. The company operates a waste-to-energy plant utilising non-recyclable combustible waste in Korvenmäki, Salo. The Waste-to-Energy plant started up in spring 2021 and has since used approximately 260,000 tonnes of waste in energy production.

Waste fuel for the waste-to-energy plant will be collected mainly from eighteen municipalities in southwestern Finland. The procurement, collection and transport of waste fuel is the responsibility of the municipal waste management company Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto Oy. The waste-to-energy plant produces both electricity and district heat. The district heat produced by the plant will be delivered to the district heating network of the Salo city centre, and the electricity will be sold to the national electricity grid. In 2022, the waste-to-energy plant consumed 124,460 tonnes of waste, produced 175 GWh of district heat and 66 GWh of electricity.
